TYING IN HOT SPOTS
Seeing a low riding small imitation in low light conditions can sometimes be hard. Or for that matter, any low riding dull imitation can be hard to see for anyone. One good solution is to incorporate a hot spot on some of the flies you tie. You do not want to spook fish so it is cruicial to see exactly where trout rise. Especially when there is a lot of egg-layers or emergers, and trout are rising steadily.
So tie just a few of your favourite egg-layers, emergers or any of the small hard-to-see-flies that you use at dusk or dawn with a piece of the orange AB's Polychenille. Just tie in a piece on top of the thorax in any way you prefer. This piece of polychenille will also help the imitation stay afloat.
