Here's the step by step tying instructions for the Profile Ant.
PROFILE ANT Hook: TMC 102y or Mustad R30, # 12-20 Thread: UNI 8/0, Rusty Brown Body: Foam cylinder, black and reddish brown Legs: Black Micro Round Rubber (Spirit River)
1. Wrap the tying thread half way down the hook shank. Tie in the foam as shown on the photo.
2. Cut the part of the foam pointing forward and tie down the butt part. (If you are going to tie an all black ant, just leave both ends)
3.Tie in a new foam cylinder - this time a reddish brown pointing forward.
4.Then cut the excess and tie down the butt section. Now you should have plenty of room to tie in the legs.
5. Tie in 3-4 black Micro Round Rubber strips at the middle of the hook shank. Tie them all in at once.
6. Then the trick: Pull on by one as you tie them in - one on each side pointing backwards, a couple in the middle and a couple pointing forwards, so that they all will lay spread out.
7. Whip-finish and clip the legs to proper length. Profile Ant.
