The spring is here, and May has been a good month, with some pretty good midge and B.rhodani fishing! Mostly small rivers for me so far in May, but we've also had some float tube trips. Yep, new season, new opportunities and adventures. And this spring has really been good to me. 6 brown trouts past the 2.2 lb mark on dries so far. Biggest so far 4 lbs.
2.2 lbs on a dry MicroDun rhodani imitation. Will certainly gain some more weight as the rhodani hatch peaks.
4 lbs! Again on the magical dryfly - the MicroDun (light olive rhodani again)
2.4 lbs brownie on a buzzer. Fished in a three fly rig, with a Shipman's as the top dropper and a couple of buzzers on the depths. Several of the brown trouts also took the Shipman's :-)
Ola with a really nice one. The two first ones he took this day was a 1.5 lbs and a 2.2 lbs and that's a pretty great start :-)
A beautiful trout (2.2 lbs+) released gently and unharmed back into the water. On a dry midge pattern size 18 :-) That's always fun :-)
Here's another nice May brownie weighting in at about 2.4 lbs. A difficult and beautiful trout. I really and deeply love these large trouts which really gives you a hard time.
Thanks.
And the MicroDun you will find her
