Some photos from our trips to Iceland. In 2008 I guided a group to some fantastic places.
By André Brun
The group I guided in 2008: Per Erik Svenskerud, Rolf M. Solli, Runar Snellingen, Frank Flage, Dag Borgersen, guide Birgir Ĝ. Arnarson. In front: Roar Thoresen, guide André Brun
Frank with one of the finest chars. 2,7 kg.
Dag's helping Roar out with the char of his dreams!
Rolf Morten releasing one of the largest chars from this trip. Rolf Morten is woring as a guide himself on a Norwegian river.
Per Erik has just landed a 2,8 kg. char.
Even the group leader got some fishing time between the guiding :-) A beauty of 2,2 kilo
Look at this fine highland lake. And the trout where cruising just 10-15 meters from the bank all around the lake...
And here's one of them. Look at the condition of this wild trout.
 The Patrol.
Another beautiful lake. Look at the steep edge just outside of the shallows. All around the lake. Guess where the trout is cruising :-)
Runar has just hooked up with some highland dynamite up in Veidivatn. The photo light this evening was great. Some of the finest light I've ever seen. The last 2-minute-direct-warm-rays from the sun hitting the flyfisher just as he hooks up with a trophy.
 It's a beauty
This is what I am looking for. Both when it comes to life in general, fishing situations and photo light. Friends fishing in a dream pool.
Is this heaven on earth or what? Per Erik has just landed another dynamite trout. Why do I say dynamite? The few and far between trouts in this char river proved to be one of the strongest I've ever caught and encountered. But the tremendous food supply itself should not be the whole explanation.
Jepp, there's a whole lot of mosquitos up here, but what the heck. Look at the char, and you'll understand how we can ignore all the bites day in and day out.
Some where sitting high up in the terrain with pola- glasses and telling how the char reacted to the drift, and some where fishing. And then we changed roles. And then back again. Here: Rolf Morten has hooked one of the good ones. Splash...
 And a true trophy.
Two of the other guys in action. Dag and Roar. This is a tough setting, because some of the fish is a once-in-a- lifetime-kind-of-char. By the way; look at the weather conditions:-)
What can I say. You can't blame men for getting emotional when the fish look like this. It's human.
One of the mentioned 'dynamite trouts'. A beautiful 3 pounder. You can tell the difference just from the very second he's hooked: The trout's aggressive head shaking movements and strong short runs, compared to the char's slow and heavy runs. At least the larger ones.
Runar, spotting fish on a highland lake.
Dag with a big one! Mr. Borgersen did break his personal record during the trip with a beautiful trout weighting in at about 3,2 kilo. Need I say that he didn't get his feet back to the ground that evening. Of course we had to selebrate that one :-)
 André and a char.
 And back he goes.
We did take a couple for dinner the next day. In this river we could really take a couple for dinner, because of the strong and healthy population.
 Breakfast.
A place called "Juvet". And look at the color of the water and the surroundings. There where some nice chars in here as well. You may see more of that on the film.
 Juvet
A happy group of flyfishers. That's for sure.
A late evening char for Kaldakvisl. Look at the size.
Jepp. Happy as ever. Roar and Birgir.
It's running off with all your backing, Mr. Borgersen! :-)
 Char.
Per Erik and a beautiful char. The condition and size of these chars will always amaze me.
 Look at the colors.
One has hooked up with a nice char and the other is getting ready to drift his nymph over a feeding char just some feets in front of him. Life'll never get better.
 Birgir with a nice char.
 And Runar.
 And Per Erik.
Runar has hooked up with a big one.
 And Birgir.

 Early morning. Getting ready.
Frank and Rolf Morten are getting used to the impression of the Loop Opti Runner. :-) The finest reel I've ever used!
 Frank Flage
 Roar and his #3 rod.
 Jepp, happy flyfisher!
 Rolf Morten
This expression probably sums up the Iceland part of 2008.
